Brother Knut Dagobert (Bert) Seehawer

We have many dedicated Masons in our Lodge.On this Web site you may read about five of these Masons under the heading “Medal of Merit” (Blue Button) we would now like to inform you of another dedicated Brother Knut Dagobert (Bert) Seehawer. He was born at Lobsens East Germany (now Poland) 02 July 1931. Immigrated to Canada 01 August 1951.

Bro Bert worked at various job prior to his long dedicated service with Imperial Oil (Esso), retiring in 1989. 

Bro Bert has been a Mason for almost 47 years.
Affiliated with Carstairs Lodge No 20, in 1991.
At our Installation in June 1997 was appointed
Senior Steward and still holds that appointment.

 

Bro Bert is very active in the community and one of his hobbies is competing in

“Tractor Pulls” about central Alberta

During 2007, he traveled 2892 Km to attend the following events with his 1949 W6 Mc McCormick:

May      26 at Irricana, came Second
June      2  at Linden, came Second
June    16 at Lacombe came First
June    23 at Markerville, came Fourth
July        7 at the Calgary Exhibition & Stampede
                       
(the greatest outdoor show on earth) came First
July     14 at Three Hills,came Fifth
Aug       4  at Leslieville, came Fourth
Aug     11  at Irricana, came Second
Aug .   19  at Sunnybrook Red Deer,  came First
Sep.    15  at Leduc,  Final  Fourth

Only ribbons or trophies are presented to drivers that place First, Second, or Third. Bro Bert says:

 I know it's a lot of driving, but we had a lot of fun meeting all these great people with their tractors at the shows

 


Friday 27th July 2007

Thirty-Five (35) brethren and friends gathered at the Glenmore Inn, Crowchild East  To say good-bye to WBro Arnold Smith who is moving back to his home town of Maple Creek Saskatchewan.

WBro Laurie Dirks did all the “Leg Work” and after collecting
 the money and paying the bills, it was up to our new J W, Bro Arnold
Murray to carry the “Torch”.

          The WM RWBro Bill Johnston thanked all those in attendance for making it such a great party.
           In particular, WBro Laurie Dirks, who took on the responsibility of making it, happen.

 Cowboy Hat over the One (1) was struck in 1987 for the Grand Masters’
Conference of North America held in Calgary. This was also the year Bro
Arnold
came back to Calgary. Carstairs Pin over the Eleven (11) Pennies
at the bottom are Marks!
